StoneVIK 2024 — The Icon Wine Crafted by Nature, in Nature
From the World’s #1 Vineyard. Aged in handmade amphorae at 1,000 meters above sea level. StoneVIK is Viña VIK’s most ambitious expression of terroir — a Bordeaux-style blend born from regenerative viticulture and shaped by the Chilean wilderness.
A Groundbreaking Blend from Millahue Valley
StoneVIK 2024 is a Cabernet Franc-dominant blend from Viña VIK’s estate in the Millahue Valley, Chile — a name the Mapuche people gave meaning “Place of Gold.” The 2024 vintage is composed of 77% Cabernet Franc, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Carménère, sourced from 327 hectares of estate-grown vines planted across 12 distinct micro-valleys in the foothills of the Andes.
This is not a conventional icon wine. StoneVIK represents VIK’s deepest commitment to natural winemaking — combining regenerative, organic, and biodynamic practices into what the winery calls a “holistic” approach.
Aged in the Earth, Under Century-Old Oaks
What sets StoneVIK apart from every other premium Chilean wine is its aging process. After initial fermentation in VIK’s proprietary Barroir oak barrels for one month, the wine is transferred to seven handcrafted clay amphorae — made by artisans using clay sourced from VIK’s own terroir.
These amphorae are semi-buried in the earth at La Roblería, a sacred site at over 1,000 meters above sea level, surrounded by century-old oak trees. Arranged in a mandala aligned according to astronomical principles — three in honor of the universe, four in honor of the earth — the wine rests untouched by human hands until the southern hemisphere’s summer solstice, when nature releases the finished wine.

The Estate
Founded in 2006 by Alexander and Carrie Vik, Viña VIK sits on 4,300 hectares of Chilean wilderness in the Cachapoal Valley — a landscape of 12 micro-valleys, each with its own microclimate, cooled by Pacific coastal breezes and Andean winds. Only 327 hectares are planted to vine. The remaining land is a nature reserve protecting native flora and fauna.
Chief Winemaker Cristián Vallejo oversees all viticulture and winemaking, ensuring hand harvesting, native yeast fermentation, and minimal intervention. The winery itself, designed by Pritzker Prize-nominated architect Smiljan Radić, is built mostly underground with a floating bronzed titanium roof — one of the most iconic winery structures in the world.
