Michael Mondavi, son of Robert Mondavi, helped build one of Napa Valley's most important wineries before founding Michael Mondavi Family Estate with his wife Isabel and their children, Rob and Dina. Animo is the family's estate on Atlas Peak, a high-elevation site in the mountains above Napa Valley, and the Heritage Sauvignon Blanc comes from a special block of that vineyard.
Tasting notes: Pale straw with bright reflections. Lifted aromas of lemongrass, key lime and passion fruit, with a subtle touch of vanilla. Graceful and well balanced on the palate, with fresh acidity, a silky texture and a long, clean finish.
Pairing: Ceviche, grilled fish, goat cheese salads and herb-driven dishes. Serve chilled at 48–52°F.
